What people call Syngenta paraquat training is the stewardship module tied to EPA's restricted-use rules. Under the U.S. EPA rules (epa.gov), paraquat is not a general-use herbicide. Certified applicators who use or handle it must complete the EPA-approved paraquat-specific training. Some states add their own requirements on top.

Look for the CAS number 67-56-1, and check Section 1 for a supplier name and phone number. Then check Section 2 for the hazard class. If the SDS says nothing about acute toxicity, it's not the right document.
Honestly, I'm not sure why some suppliers hide SDSs behind a customer login. My best guess is they want to collect contact information. But that doesn't help someone at 11 pm on a loading dock. If your supplier won't give you an SDS before the order, treat that as a red flag.
I once issued an SDS from our old files. It was from the previous supplier, and the flash point was wrong. The buyer's safety manager caught it. That's how I learned to match an SDS to the actual shipment, every time.
Where can I find a propylene SDS?
Propylene, CAS 115-07-1, is also called propene. If someone asks for a "propylene sds," they usually mean the same compound. It's shipped as a liquefied flammable gas, so the SDS should include flammable gas and gases under pressure in Section 2.
Get it from your gas or chemical supplier. Check Section 7 for grounding and bonding, Section 9 for purity, and Section 16 for the revision date. A generic SDS might look close, but one suffix can be the difference between propylene and propane—two gases with different hazards. Put another way, close enough isn't a compliance strategy.
A customer once sent me an SDS for propane instead of propylene. One suffix different. The firefighting measures were different, the proper shipping name was different, and the PPE recommendations were different. I caught it because I checked the CAS number. That mistake would have been easy to make and dangerous to ship.
Why do SDS revision dates matter more than the CAS number?
You can have the right CAS number and still be holding a document that won't help during a bad day. SDSs get revised when hazard classifications change, when new safety data comes in, or when the supplier's emergency contact number changes. That last one is not trivial when there's a leak.
The habit I now enforce: check the revision date in Section 16 before sending an SDS to anyone. If it's older than two or three years, go to the supplier and get the current one. I've made the mistake of sending a 2016 revision of a propylene SDS to an inspector. The exact date doesn't matter. What matters is that I spent an hour explaining why it was outdated.
So glad I had the current SDS in hand when the auditor showed up the following year. Almost handed over the same outdated file. That would have been a bad meeting.
Is the cheapest paraquat ever the best deal?
My honest take is no. I have mixed feelings about paraquat as a product, and I have even more mixed feelings about cutting corners around it. On one hand, market competition keeps prices in check. On the other, I've seen a small saving on the wrong source turn into a big compliance headache.
The number that matters is the total cost of getting the product to your yard and keeping it legal: the jug price, the training, the record-keeping, the SDS, and the response when a regulator asks where it came from. If saving $60 means losing all that support, the savings disappear.
Value over price. Not because premium is always better. Because the cheapest choice usually shifts cost to someone else—and eventually it ends up back in your lap. I've lived that. It's not worth it.
